Journey

This little red head has had quite the journey (which is how she got her name)! Abandoned in rural Utah, Journey spent several weeks along the interstate alluding good Samaritans who tried to catch her. Once caught and taken to the local shelter, poor Journey spent several more weeks cowering in the corner of her kennel growling and barking at anyone who came near. She was just so frightened! Finally, a shelter worker gained her trust and Journey's fun and playful personality came out. Journey is still wary of people she doesn't know but she warms up very quickly (typically 5 minutes or less). She does tend to prefer women to men. Journey is estimated to be 3-4 yr old. She loves to play with other dogs; but, can be a bit of a pest, so a home without another dog or a young playful dog would be best for her. Journey is house-broken, crate-trained and walks well on a leash. She is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. She has completed two canine obedience classes and is truly the most educated and well-trained dog in Herding Haven rescue.  She is also Herding Haven's longest resident (going on 2 years in our rescue.  She would love a home for the holidays!  If you are interested in meeting Journey, please contact kathie@herdinghaven.org.
